Kryptonics Urathane
Hey what's the deal with kryptonics urathane? I've heard like ten different things from 50 poeple and I'd like to get the story strait. What's the difference between the old ones, and classic k's, as well as the clear urathane?
Re: Kryptonics Urathane
Hi Chief, long time no see, Kryptonics used to be an innovative company based in Boulder Colorado.
Their early skateboard wheels were really ahead of any other in the industry, they introduced the cored wheel with the C series and high rebound urethane. I was alway riding blue or red kryptos in the 70s.
I still have my composite Krytonics Foam Board too wich was awesome.
They have been bought many times by different investors (from memory: Hyper, Bravo, etc..) and are now made in China and quality is apparently not the same anymore.

The Urethane grade given to the Old blue race cores is marketed as 80A, which normally would be somewhat high duro for a sideset double conicle wheel, although the real duro has been measured at many times with an actual Durometer device as 72a, the combination of its shape and softness makes it the perfect drift wheel.
