Re: PECGF 22-23-24 oct 2010

Hey Racers!,
Less than week until the PEC Gravity Fest, IGSA Canadian Championships!!!!
We thought we would give you an update. Check out our website www.pecgravityfest.com for the latest updates. Please ensure that you have all the required safety gear. If you are unsure of exactly what that entails, please visit www.igsaworldcup.com. It is also recommended that you have your own medical insurance.
It looks like we have a great group of racers coming. For those of you who have paid we are able to send you this update. Racers who have not yet paid will not receive this information as we do not have any contact information. If you are aware of any racers who are coming and who have not paid, please forward this email to them. Cash only will be accepted at the registration for those who have not yet paid.
Registration will take place on Friday evening from 4 - 7 p.m., and Saturday starting at 7 a.m. at the finish line on York Street. There will be a riders meeting on Saturday at 7:45 a.m. at the finish line.
Camping is available at Delhi Park. If you are planning on camping (and there are those of us who think you are crazy as the nights will be cold) please try and arrive on Friday evening. It will be more difficult on race day to get your vehicle in the campground as the entrance to the campground is at the finish line of the race. You will be allowed to camp if you come on Saturday however, you might not be able to park your vehicle in there until after the racing is completed.
There are no campfires allowed. There are toilets and sinks but no water hookups or shower facilities at the campground. Please see our website for more information on camping. Camping costs are $5.00 night/person. In the arena and beside the ball field (adjacent to the skate park)there is shower facilities available for those who are camping.
We are having a Flag/Parade Run on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. If you have access to a flag or our province/country or your local long boarding group, please bring it with you.
We are hosting a "Meet the Rider" in conjunction with our local skate park group at 6 p.m. on Saturday. This new skate park has been named the best in Canada! There will be an opportunity to try out the new skate park and sign autographs for our skate park members. Please plan on attending. The youngsters from the Park are looking forward to meeting their hero's!!! Bring your short board and give the park a try!
After the Meet the Riders, there will be a spaghetti dinner in the community hall adjacent to the skate park. For those who would like to shower before the dinner, don't worry, we will serve for most of the evening. There will be live entertainment as well as a cash bar. The dinner is free of charge to our racers and volunteers. Families of racers are welcome to participate for a cost of $5.00/person. There will be spaghetti, salad, drinks apple pie and ice cream.
The weekend will be filmed by two documentary companies, as well as numerous media outlets including CBC radio, and a unique photographic company http://polepics.com/
As this is the first time for this race, we have tried to anticipate everything but are aware there may be things we might overlook. The PEC Gravity Fest Committee is asking for your patience this weekend if this happens.
See you next weekend!
