Bear Grizzly Trucks
Bear Grizzly 852`s
The Grizzly`s have been designed to be the benchmark in longboarding trucks. A better, more exact fit and finish than other brands as it is gravity fed die cast in Canada. The axle is 181mm wide, providing a nice stable stance. The Grizzly`s come armed with red Khiro bushings, a barrel on the bottom and a large insert on top.
Grizzly`s will come set up to carve. Carve as hard as you want with more precision and control than ever before, they are super rad carving trucks.(57 degree angle).
When it comes time to start bombing and racing your friends, flip the hanger and you have a wickedly competitive down hill speed truck (The 47 degree angle paired with the 181mm hanger width makes for a super stable speed truck).
How dose this flipping measurement work? Well, the bushing seat is recessed in the hanger, and the bushing seat and pivot nub are angled. So from the middle of the pivot cup to the middle of the axle is 57 degrees for carving and flipped for downhill it is 47 degrees.
Bear Modifications Tutorial
NOTE: If you dont have the new version of the Grizzlies, you can skip this tutorial. If the nut is located against the baseplate of the truck, then you have the older version.
Some people have been wanting to get more turn out of their Bear Grizzlies and arent sure how to go about it. The first step is to flip the front bushing washer. If this is not enough, a second step is to remove the back bearing washer. Here are detailed instructions how to go about it:
1. Flip the front bushing washer: The first thing you want to do to increase turning is to flip the front bushing washer. First, remove the nut. Second, simply take the washer and flip it so that the edges now face outwards. Secure the nut back onto the truck and give it a test run.
2. Remove the back bushing washer: Only do this if the first step did not allow for enough turning. First, remove the nut. Secondly, remove the bushings, hanger, everything off of the truck so that you can get to the back bushing washer. While doing this, try and keep track of what order things went in so nothing goes in the wrong order or goes on backwards. Remove the back bushing washer and put everything else back on. Secure the nut back onto the truck.
A truck with both modifications successfully done should look like this. Make sure that the nut is covered by the entire thread of the kingpin (the screw looking thing attacked to the truck). If it is on too loose, then vibrations while riding may knock it off altogether, which you really dont want to happen. Any questions, please dont hesitate to call or email us.
Re: Bear Grizzly Trucks
As if they couldn't get any better.... we did some modifications to our Bear Trucks, putting in black bushings and putting a barrel shape bushing in the top. We hope you enjoy them!
